Un pò di notizie riguardo il tanto atteso nuovo lavoro degli Stereophonics.
Iniziamo col comunicato ufficiale di Kelly Jones postato sul sito ufficial edella band:
I’ve loved film and music ever since I was a kid. When I first started writing songs I realised they could paint pictures in your mind, which inevitably leads to telling stories. I’ve always wanted to combine them both. Directing for the first time with a fantastic crew and cast was a great experience. Looks like the Kelly will be releasing a film called he wrote and directed called ‘Violins & Tambourines’, with the music being played by Stereophonics and the soundtrack being their 8th album, I’m guessing of the same title. Watch the video below.

Come già annunciato l'8° lavoro della band Gallese sarà molto cinematografico e a quanto dice Kelly verrà rilasciato un film chiamato "Violins & Tambourines" che è anche il nome del primo singolo rilasciato.

Dunque ... se la mettiamo sotto l'aspetto cinematografico, la scelta delle immagini è perfetta per quello che la storia racconta, e anzi, è uno dei pochi casi in cui il testo di una canzone viene riproposto perfettamente in un video.
Quindi se l'intento degli Stereophonics è quello di togliersi la soddisfazione di produrre un film interamente musicato da loro, si direbbe che i ragazzi abbiamo fatto un buon lavoro, almeno da questa anteprima.
Però dal lato prettamente musicale, almeno questa canzone, è tutto fuorchè "musicale".
Non è adatta come singolo, non è adatta per un passaggio in radio.
Lo stesso testo è un pò troppo "particolare" per essere goduto sotto forma di canzone (non sò se mi spiego)
E' difficile che riescano ad attirare l'attenzione di qualcun'altro esclusi i fan se tutto il lavoro verte in questo tipo di direzione.
Quindi non sò che conclusione dare a questo primo assaggio del nuovo lavoro di Kelly e soci.
Ripeto, da un lato si nota un lavoro molto accurato sul fattore cinematografico.
Da quello musicale invece rimango un pò titubante.
Ho però fiducia e spero che gli Stereophonics riesciranno a stupirci con qualcosa di grandioso !
