I suggested to Teresa that we open a thread for people who need our prayers and she agreed it was something we should have so here it is. And, I am going to post the first request since I definitely need some prayers. I have to go on Monday morning for a heart catheterization because of suspected blockages and because of a wildly irregular heartbeat called Ventricular Tachycardia, which can be quite deadly in itself. This irregular heartbeat is a different type than the one caused by viewing Papa's photos or listening to him talk. Anyhow, since I am feeling absolutely awful right now and will undoubtedly be a nervous wreck on Monday, any and all prayers would definitely be appreciated--not only to live till Monday but to get fixed up completely and successfully then.

I have really found a lot of peas and choy on this forum and I think the world of all of you. Thanks for the good times so far. By the way, I'd really love to meet Papa in person some day so that would be a neat postscript to any prayers. Thanks very much.

    THANKS, EVERYBODY

It is Sunday afternoon here and I have my heart catheterization tomorrow morning. I was feeling a lot of pain in the chest when I wrote my original post on this thread but yesterday and today I have been feeling much better and more calm about everything. I am sure your prayers have helped immensely with that. Please keep it up. I am really hoping things work out so the doctor can fix what ails me tomorrow and I won't have to have bypass surgery. I will let you all know on Tuesday, if I can, how everything went. Thanks again for all your support.

Do not fear dear benefan, we will be surrounding you with prayer. In the UK we are six hours or so ahead of you, and I won't forget you all day. When you can, please check in to let us know how you are.

may God bless you and restore you swiftly to us.

Benefan, I'm a little late, sorry. You are surely in my prayers.
Don't be scared, you are not alone. Hopefully it will help you to know that. And the Lord will protect you too.

    I'M BACK...

but I am still feeling a bit woozy from all the medications I was given to relax during the heart catheterization. I got some very good news--my heart arteries are "as clean as a whistle", to quote the doctor so no blockages. So why the crushing chest pain and the feeling that a rubber band was being tightened around part of my heart and why the inability to walk half a block without gasping for air? They did find that I have mitral valve prolapse but usually symptoms for that aren't so extreme. I have a call in to my doctor's office this morning to see if I am supposed to have more tests or medication so hopefully I will know more after he calls.

Anyhow, thank you all again for your kindness. I really felt much more comfortable dealing with that test thinking about your remarks and prayers and many of Papa's beautiful words that have been printed on this forum. Since I will be home from work for the next two days, I hope to spend my time between bed and my computer on the forum. Thanks again.

    RELIEF!!
I'm so glad that there seems to be nothing dreadfully wrong with your heart, benefan, I've been praying almost non-stop and offered two communions for you, and I know others here have been storming heaven - so let's hope that you won't suffer further problems. Very glad it doesn't look as if you'll need anything bypassed any time soon.

SO GOOD TO HEAR FROM YOU....
Dearest Benefan - Just got the chance to check on the forum after leaving the house this morning...What a welcome sign that you're back at your PC!...You know, that makes two of us with MVP, except mine was discovered at birth, and I've been living it rather well all these five-plus decades....Let's pray they find out what caused the alarming symptoms and that they don't recur... All our prayers and love....
